REVIEW: Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Tile: Delirium
Author: Lauren Oliver
Series: Delirium
Series #: 1
Rating:  .6

Summary:
Before scientist found a cure, people thought love was a good thing.

They didn't understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

Selena's POV:
Ugh! I love this book! The ending was SO intense and depressing! I mean that in a good way, too. The book was just amazing, and I loved it!

Lena is just a regular girl, living her life and avoiding love, or in other words, the deliria. She loves to run, and has a best friend. She's ready to get cured when she's 18, and can't wait for it. That's was before she fell in love, though, and that's when everything gets messed up.

In the book, Lena wasn't looking for love (clearly!). She tried her hardest for avoid love at all cost, as her mother killed herself due to love. But as usual, Lena finds out that love is irresistible, and can't be avoided when you're infected with love.

Now you're probably wondering, who is Lena in love with?! Well, his name is Alex ... and she's SO SWEET! He's like the perfect boyfriend you can ever have, but then again, I've said that to every book I've read (: But I wouldn't mind if he was my boyfriend. He's very caring & strong, and just lovable! In the book, he cares very much for Lena, and is very cautious. And in the end, you can tell VERY MUCH that he cares VERY MUCH about Lena. Trust me; you will know by the end of the book (:

Now, moving onto the ending ...

It's still killing me!! I won't reveal anything, but just to give you a warning, you will have a heart-attack, and then die! I hate those kind of books, but then again, I love them so much! I thought the ending was very sad, but I didn't think it was such a great ending. I mean, REALLY?! I wish I could say more, but I would just give EVERYTHING away.

Overall, I thought the book was very creative. I mean, falling in love? A disease? WHAT?! I know, crazy. I thought that Lauren Oliver did an amazing job on this book, and hope the movie is going to be just as amazing as the book. But I couldn't give it 5 stars. Why, you ask? Because the beginning was SO BORING! I honestly felt myself dragging myself through the first 200 pages! It was just horrible! But right when it got to 210, I started to feel how the book was intense, and couldn't stop reading. But then again, the first book in the series is always boring due to that you have to introduce everyone, introduce the problem, and things like that.

I strongly encourage you to read this book! After you finish the book you're currently reading, pick up this book and READ READ READ! I don't care if it's boring in the beginning. Just READ, and you'll know you'll love this book just as much as I do by the very last page. ;)

REVIEW: Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Title: Wicked Lovely
Author: Melissa Marr
Pages: 328
Series: Wicked Lovely
Series #: 1
Rating:  .5

Summary:

Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty—especially if they learn of her Sight—and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.

Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.

Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.

But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost—regardless of her plans or desires.

Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning 21st century faery tale.

Selena's POV:
*Sigh* This was probably the first book that made me fall in love with faeries! This is SUCH an amazing book! Though people don't think so, and I kinda know why ...

Aislinn is a tough girl, and really confident in herself. She knows the rules and plays by the rules ... until they're broken. I really like her due to the fact that she's an outsider who has this sight in which she can see faeries. Keenan is such a sweetheart! Though he can turn his back on you with a snap of his fingers! He's dangerous, so be cautious ... (: Seth is like, the PREFECT boyfriend in all of the WORLD! If you've read this book, you know what I'm talking about *wink*. He's just SO sweet and a down to earth kind of guy. He's protective over Aislinn, and I think that's cute ;)

In Wicked Lovely, Keenan is trying to find a Summer Queen due to that the Winter Queen, which, unfortunately, is Keenan's Mother, is spreading cold over fairyland. With a Summer Queen, Keenan can gain the power to defeat the cold his mother is spreading. Oh, and for every girl Keenan seduces into loving him and who ultimately is not the Summer Queen, an eternal life of coldness is reward, with only a wolf for a companion. Geez! Pretty tough, huh?

Aislinn is the next on Keenan's list, and she isn't happy about it. She has other things on her mind, like not going into the fairy world, and spending time with her best friend Seth. Seth .... *Sighs*. Seth and Aislinn have a very good relationship together, though they are falling a bit for each other. But Aislinn values her relationship with Seth too much that she doesn't want to go any farther than friends. But Seth is a COMPLETE flirt, which doesn't really work out well! Kind of like Keenan in a way, but not a Summer King.

I don't like love triangles, but I do like love triangles, which is a bit weird. It keeps the story VERY interesting, but makes me sad because one out of the three people have to get hurt. But the thing about this is that Keenan is in love with someone else; Donia. I feel bad for her due to that she has to watch Keenan fall in love with other girls when she is in love with him.

Though things didn't seem really balanced in the beginning ... the start of the book was a bit confusing for me. And, although I love Seth, he just seemed too picture-perfect. I mean, no one can really live that way the way he forgives people so easily and doesn't really have any flaws.

Now I can't really reveal too much for you guys. That is what reading if for! *Cheers* (:

I recommend this book for you guys to read. You'll LOVE it! I haven't read the rest of the series but I'm really looking forward to it. I can remember laying in bed for hours after I finished the book. I was too depressed to go to sleep! I wanted to find out what happened next :)

REVIEW: "Last Sacrifice" by Richelle Mead

Title: Last Sacrifice
Author: Richelle Mead
Pages: 594
Series: Vampire Academy
Series #: 6
Rating:

Summary:
Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules. She broke the law when she ran away from St. Valdimir's Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader o the Moroi World, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardians to come.

Now the law had finally caught up with Rose - for a crime she didn't even commit. She's in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She'll nee help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose's life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back ... and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your whole life is about saving others, who will save you?

Selena's POV:
This book was epic, period. I was SO happy that Richelle Mead made this book 594 pages! I ate this book up in a night!

First of all, the series was amazing from the start, and I was kinda sad to see the characters go. I mean, they have progressed throughout the series SO much, growing into something bigger. In a month of when I read the series, a year has gone by in the books timeline, and I couldn't believe that! That was too fast ...

Rose is tough, but when things switch on her, she doesn't know what to do. That's what her friend's are for(: SPOILER: They help Rose break out & find the OTHER Dragomir in a life or death matter. Technically, Dimitri, Rose, and Sydney go on a crazy adventure to find the second-to-last Dragomir, running into many problems along the way, which, I tell you, is EPIC! (though I don't want to give too much away).

This book was never boring, and always had action in it! I loved all the things Richelle included in this book that made me MORE hyped up about it! Her ending of this book couldn't be any better!

Like I said before, I was kinda sad about the characters leaving. I mean, it's hard to end a series that you're amazingly attached to for SO LONG! Though I was happy too because I could see characters here in this book in Bloodlines (the VA Spin-off Series) in Sydney's point of view. It's very cool, though I do miss Rose very, very, VERY much.

Overall, I REALLY loved this book, and is probably my favorite book EVER (expect for Clockwork Prince). If you haven't read this book, then you don't know what reading is! Just kidding! Though you should really, really, REALLY read this book!

Richelle Mead made my life better by 110% by writing this series <33

REVIEW: Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Title: Clockwork Prince
Author: Cassandra Clare
Pages: 502
Series #: 2
Rating:

He blames them for a long-ago tragedy to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every more - and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, but her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will - the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

Selena's POV:
To be really honest, I had to put down the book for ten minutes and cry. I'm really emotional, and the book made me cry. Cassandra's books are unique and creative, surrounding a believable world that I want to live in. Just the history background itself for the book is interesting. All the things and research she puts into this book is amazing!

If you didn't read the first book you should, though I'm still moving on with talking about the 2nd book:

In Clorkwork Prince, Tessa and the Shadowhunters are trying to look for the Magister, as the Magister wants Tessa for her powers. Though when trying to achieve that goal, they stumble across some problems . . . and they're pretty BIG! I really must say that Clockwork Prince really surprised me a lot. Just the things the characters did, what they said, made me very surprised. Though it was a good surprised (for me, at least).

Will is probably one of my favorite characters in this book (not like Jem isn't either ...). Will gets my attention by the witty things he says, and just his actions. I mean, who can't like a bad boy? (: Though in Clockwork Prince, you REALLY get to see who he actually is. I don't blame you though if you're still on Team Jem after you read this book.

I'm really happy Cassandra Clare made this book 502 pages long. I ate it up right away! I couldn't put it down! It was just plain amazing :)

If you haven't read ANY of Cassandra Clare's books, then you're missing out on a lot. I recommend you read her books, and you'll fall in love with books all over again!
