MOVIE NEWS: Beautiful Creatures Recast?

RECAST?!

WHAT?!

Yeah, I know. That's how I reacted when I found out that Jack O'Connell, the actor that is playing Ethan in the upcoming movie Beautiful Creatures, was taken out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. In his place, Alden Ehrenreich will now portray Ethan Wate. Alden appeared in an episode in CSI and in Supernatural.

Here's what Kami & Margaret had to say:

Due to a scheduling conflict, Jack O’Connell will be unable to play the role of Ethan Wate in the Beautiful Creatures film. While we’re sorry to see Jack go, we’re so happy to call Alden Ehrenreich a Beautiful Creature.

Are you guys pleased with this choice, or like Jack better?

SWEET RIGHT?! I haven't read the other books, but I'm really planning to. Like it said up by the picture, the book comes out this fall on October 23rd.

Movie News: "Beautiful Creatures" By Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl Casting News

Meet Emmy Rossum. She was Christine in "The Phantom of the Opera" AND is going to be Ridley in the movie adaptation "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl . Ridley is Lean's lollipop-licking cousin.

The movie is going to be showing in theaters on February 1, 2013.

What do you think of Emmy playing the role of Ridley? Are you excited for the movie?

Movie News: "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

If you guys haven't heard of ANY of this news yet, I'll fill you in. For me to lie to you guys about this book will just be harsh, so I can't do that. So when I read this book for the first time, I didn't really like it. It just didn't ... catch my attention. I don't know why, but I just didn't. Though just because this is becoming a movie, I won't just SUDDENLY like this. I think it's 'cause I haven't read any of the other books. Hahaa (:

Anyways, moving on, they have a pretty good start of the cast I think. Some people might disagree, but whatever ;)

The Main Character, Lena, is played by Alice Englert:

Not what I really pictured her, but I think she's good :)


The Other Main Character, Ethan, is played by Jack O'Connell:

And again, not really what I pictured him, but that's okay!


Amma, the 'maid' (or something....) is played by Viola Davis:

Mrs. Lincoln/ Sarafine is played by Emma Thompson:

The movie is to be released on February 1, 2012.
